Skinny Quad Tires on Golf Cart Rims
I have a pair of 21 x 7(W) x 10(D) Front Quad tires that i was looking into putting on a 10 (diameter) x 9 (wide) rims. Guy at discount tires says they wont fit but a friend says they should. He says the air pressure should make the walls expand out to fit the 9 inch wide rim. Who's right?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: Skinny Quad Tires on Golf Cart Rims
The profile of the bead might not fit the rim correctly, creating an unsafe situation. Meaning the tire might slip off the rim in a high side load (turn).

Re: Skinny Quad Tires on Golf Cart Rims
In go kart racing we run 8 in tires on 10 inch wide wheels at 5# and 6# of pressure and as low as 3 #.With side loads alot higher than a golf cart does. we are talk 40-80 mph thru corners. They are mothers to get seated sometimes and our wheels have inside ridges to help hold them. I would say try one and see. They probably will look funny tho.
