I am running Gabriel air shocks made for the rear of 87-84? Jeep YJ's. The Jeeps that still had the leaf springs. I made the front suspension drop down lift and modified the stock a-arms.

Just a guess, but .... limit straps? They keep the suspension from dropping so much that it damages the shock.

It's an old dune buggy trick used when you are getting that much articulation.

What is the length and travel difference in the 400ex shocks compared to stockers?

I just installed the 400 ex shocks on the rear and saw an increase of 5.75" over stock.
The total length is 17" and center bolt to center of bolt is about 16".
