Default G1 won't stay running

Hi guys, you might remember me from my forum about putting a briggs 8hp in the G16 (later found to be a G14) but I cannot find my old thread and this one is quite different, so I was just posting a new one. I am looking at buying an old Yamaha G1 that has been sitting for a few years, the guy said it runs but won't stay running. He thinks it is the fuel pump. I haven't seen the cart yet. I think if I clean out the carburator and all the jets and put some new hoses on it then it would run fine, but only time will tell I guess. If the things in decent shape I would have no problem giving him the $375 he is asking for. Anyways, just wanting to get some opinions on the problem with it. I am getting it monday and will have some pics up no later than tuesday.

That's a good price for a G1. Clean carb, replace gasoline, filter and check fuel line for leaks. Replace spark as well.
