controller problem?
I have a question about my ezgo. I have brand new batteries they charge all night. In the morning my meter shows they are dead. But i put a volt meter on them and reading 36.6 volts. Ride it a little while and seems to start slowing down. Been told my controller is going bad. Is this true? How hard is it to change the controller? any suggestions???

Re: controller problem?
Battery pack should be around 38v +/- after a full charge. Solve the battery issue first.

Re: controller problem?
If it's the cart in your avatar pic then I'd agree with controller issues. Larger tires, lift, rear seat, all add load to the stock PDS controller (that is not designed to handle that load) and many members with PDS cars have experienced controller failure due to multiple controller thermal events after installling those additional components. If it still runs, run it till it slows and check the temp of the controller and when the cart slows does the controller throw a code? You'll be in trouble with me if you say you disconnected the reverse buzzer. Just a heads up....
In any case, it sounds like your controller is overheating and going in to "limp home" mode. Not long she won't go at all will be my guess. |

Re: controller problem?
Yes the pic of my avatar is my cart. I just have a stock controller with a (hill chip). So which controller would i need with the big tires and lift kit? The tires are 26". And i didnt disconnect the reverse buzzer. I just made it a little quieter...so its not so loud. How would i know if it throws a code? Thanks for all the info so quick!!!!
