Default 1979 ezgo motor 36v

Hi everyone
I picked up a 79 electric ezgo that does not run. I started to rewire according to a diagram and broke a motor post in half. How do I fix this? Do i clip the wire at the bottom of the post and install a new one? (where would I purchase)
OR do I weld a extension stud to the existing post?
thanks

You'll need to crack the motor and replace the broken stud. Good chance to inspect and clean things up inside.

If you're not comfortable breaking in to the motor, your local alternator or motor shop can repair it.

Download the Owners, Service, and Parts manuals from the stickies. They tell how to open, change the bearing, and inspect the brushes.
