might be. the hub must be tightened to 140# pds. do you hear the noise when it is on jack stands? if you do, it is probably not the hubs. if you put it up on the stands and have someone gently push the pedal, you may be able to isolate the noise.

Okay, removed both rear wheels, rear hubs and axles. When you push on the gas you can still hear the grinding noise. What should I do, look for next? Thanks in advance for everyone's help....

if it's not the axle bearings, i would say it's # 15 or 16 bearings on the input shaft, or the motor bearing

I replaced all bearings and seals in my 1998, since it had some miles on it. It really wasn't that hard.
