Exclamation Led battery charge indicator isnt working properly

Hi, I just bought a 2007 ezgo and had the person I bought it from install a green led battery indicator. Well after fully charging my golf cart the indicator will say i have full charge for a long time and as soon as my golf cart runs out of battery then the indicator jumps down to a low bar. So i never know when my golf cart will die. Even when the indicator does go down it only goes to about the 4th bar from the top it never gets all the way down. Is there anyway i can get the indicator to go down properly as i drive? Thanks.

It could be a bad indicator.

try this, unplug the indicator for about 2 minutes, reinstall it. see what it does. You cna unplug it at the meter or at the battery.

Some of the LED bar graph meter adjust 100% to what ever the battery voltage is when they are connected, others adjust every time batteries are charged and some never adjust.

Does you battery meter have two or three wires?

If it has three wires and is connected wrong, it will adjust 100% to whatever the voltage is when the key is turn on.

For a reliable "Fuel" gauge, use the old analog type meter.
To know what the battery pack voltage actually is, use a DVM type State of Charge meter.
