1994 ezgo
Hello, I have a 94 ezgo I bought for my step-daughter that has died on me. It quit a while back and I tinkered with it and it just started working again, but this time it's a no go. When you push the pedal the electronic component I am guessing is the controller under the plastic cover under the seat does not click and it appears to have gotten really hot near the top of it. Is this a fix I should attempt on my own? Where can I purchase this part if it is in fact the problem? Thanks for any help at all.

Re: 1994 ezgo
I'm guessing you have a cart with a series wound motor.
There are two major components under the cover, the silver cylindrical thing is the solenoid and the black box with heavy cables connected to terminals on the top of it, is the controller. The solenoid connects and disconnects high current from the battery pack to the controller, so it has to click (or clunk) for motor to run. If the solenoid isn't clicking, troubleshoot the series circuit traced out on the attached schematic. It is for a later model cart, it might be a little different than your cart, but the pedal microswitch, keyswitch and the microswitch on the F/R assembly will be the same. |
