What are you looking to do?Limit Rpm,or get more?If its' stock and has the govenor hooked up,unhook it,and you will get quite a bit more RPM,with some increase in speed and overall-power.Just don't run it wide-open for more than short blasts,If you do,you will need to up your oil-mix ratio from 1oz./gal to 1-1/2oz.per gal.to help it survive, which it will at that mix,for a very long time.Hope this helps.

How do I unhook the governor? It's a 4 stroke in a 2003 txt.

Sorry,I misread, thought it was a 244.The govenor runs thru the rear-axle.There are threads on disabling/bypassing it.I don't know what the actual RPM limit is,but I'm sure its' somewhere around 4000,maybe a little more.

That car has a rev limiter built into the igniter, it can't be bypassed. Run it hard, the rev limiter will keep it safe. If you can find an early 90's 4 stroke igniter, they don't have the limiter.
