Re: Hello, New to Forums
And i also pulled the charging port apart and noticed there is no reed switch, will that matter for any reason it not being there?

Re: Hello, New to Forums
The reed switch had a bad habit of failing at the most inconvenient times, so EZGO stopped putting them is their carts in later model years.
Most people bypass them when they fail, or before they fail. The purpose of the reed switch was to disable the cart so it couldn't be driven away when the charger was plugging into it. If driving away with the charger connect is an issue in your neck of the woods, just loop the charge cable through the steering wheel when you put cart on charge. |

Re: Hello, New to Forums
Ok, just checked J4 and getting B+ with the pedal up or down. Key on, in Run and F selected.

Re: Hello, New to Forums
Maybe the schematic is labeled wrong. Try J4 Pin-2 instead.
The pedal microswitch is between J4 Pins 1&2, so one of them should have B+ with pedal up or down and the other only when pedal is down. |

Re: Hello, New to Forums
Alright, just checked all connections and gettting 38.0v across all connections, J4 pin 1 and 2 both have 38.0v. Tested pedal switch (micro switch) and it doesnt change when checking depressed.

Re: Hello, New to Forums
That is odd. If the Pedal microswitch contacts were closed closed all the time, it would be telling the controller to energize the solenoid all the time, but the solenoid isn't being energized.
Maybe there is two problems, bad controller and bad microswitch. One thing that has been tried yet. Put Run/Tow into TOE. Unplug the plugs on the controller, and hit them with contact cleaner while plugging and unplugging them. (Could be a bad connection on the blue wire.) I've got to run for now, be back in the AM |

Re: Hello, New to Forums
Ok Johnnie, here's what's goin on. I ordered and replaced the solenoid and resistor, checked the micro switch and is good. Done a voltage check on all points of the connectors and have B+ on all. So im guessing the controller is bad, which i dont want to come to grips with..lol
And im still not hearing a clicking in solenoid. |

Re: Hello, New to Forums
Another quick question, where is the speaker suppose to be that you hear the diagnostics with? I do not see a speaker of any kind anywhere.

Re: Hello, New to Forums
It is a Sonalert and is mounted behind the dash, attached to the left side of the passenger glove-box.
You can access it by removing the panel the keyswitch and F/R switch are mounted in. If it isn't working, somebody has probably pulled or cut a wire. |
