Default new batteries and break in

I put new batteries in my 96 TXT, I also installed ScottyB's digital meter, and HIGHLY reccomend to anyone who does not have this. I am TRYING to follow all the break in steps, my problem is I can never run it enough to get the charge down to 75%...I even drove my 5 year old to school yesterday and picked her up. School is only 2 miles from house in the neighborhood up and down hills. What is one to do?? I guess I need to retire to drive it more!! Suggestions??

Drive around the neighborhood and pick up additional the kids on the way to school

The % listed on the suggested break in are suggestions not fixed formulas. The idea is to avoid deep discharge and use many shallow cycles.

Modern times SUK
We walked to miles to school ~ Hey we weren't all over weight either.
And we hitch-hiked rides to town and such.

Nobody brought guns to a movie or school.
Nobody brought bombs to to a sporting event or on a plane.

We didn't have video games
We knew our neighbors.

Yes, those were the time when I grew up, and probably for most of us on here. Simpler times; better in a lot of ways. I feel sorry for the kids today, with all their toys and computers, and TV and games. We didn't have much; but I think we had it better.

Yeah, with a stick and a tin can to play with
And sandlot baseball

There were 52 kids in our neighborhood. It backed up to a huge park with public pool for summer fun and outdoor skating park in the winter.
I got my first kiss and my asskicked in that park ......... not by the same girl

Times were different that's for sure. So many temptations today for many, young and old, to resist and not much for leadership and examples. Lots of the examples are a crook making tons of money and getting a slap on the wrist if that. Our neighborhood is fairly isolated from some of the everyday crimes and I like it. Do what I can to maintain it.
