the forth pic of the clutch ,,spry behind it where the seal goes around the crankshaft with it running on stands..keep a steady slow rpm with your hand on the throttle, and spray constant in hat area for a split second or so to see if it revs up a lil..if it does your seals are bad..they are prob bad as i see the lotta oil in the pics..but could be wrong

Will this fix my backfiring issue? Will it give me my power I need to get up a hill? Runs great on a straight away but no balls going up a hill.

no..the spring trick will fix the back firing tho..did for me..the wd40 trick is to see if your seals are blown..you need good clutches among other things depending on the hill..if the seals are blown and you have low power hills are the last thing to worry about...if compression is low and seals are blown you need about a 200.00 rebuild kit and a bit of knowledge..but its been done here many times..
if the seals are not blown, they will be soon if you dont fix the back fire issue i was told when i had mine..i gave you a link and its easy with the directions he gave.
easyer to buy a 420cc clone from harbor freight if it comes to that imo..but then theres more work for you and prob need a new clutch like i did..

Sassycat. Spring did the trick! Wd40 didn't do anything. I did not notice anything. I put the shorter Draco hp 3004 belt on it and it kept getting sucked down at full speed and making me come to a compete stop right here. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1370102685.158662.jpg. And now the fuel is coming out of the hose after the fuel pump going into the carb!!!!! It's a brand new carb!!!!!

the spring trick amazed me when i had those problems..not sure about the new problem unless the driven clutch in the pic is worn out.maybe a weak spring.are you saying the belt stays where it is now at all times in the pic? with the belt at the top of that pulley it should be at the bottom of the drive clutch on the engine also, and have a lil slack..at least im guessing the old one had a lot of slack and now the new one inch shorter one if correct shouldnt be a problem..it will loosen up after a couple hrs or so of riding..

Sassy. When I get to running full speed. Belt goes on down into the driven clutch as it open/when I'm going faster then all the sudden it gets hung up down there and checks the car real hard then when belt gets to top of driven clutch in a split second, cart will take off again only to do the same thing when it almost gets to top speed. Shorter belt did not help hill climb problem either.

is your governor still hooked up? sounds like you have a driven clutch issue but i cant say for sure...you ca take the driven clutch off and clean and inspect it easy,it its not froze on the shaft..
not sure at all,but maybe he "ramp buttons/shoes"in the clutch are worn real bad and the helix goes past the shoes when it does what your saying..
all i can say for sure is to remove the clutch and we can help ya get it apart and inspected to be sure..
anything i no about carts ive learned here and other sites maybe someone will chime in and no whats going on and had the same experiance..

Governor is not hooked up. What's the easiest way to get the clutch off?

there should be a nut in the center of it where it bolts to the rear end,,u may wanna spray it a few days with pb blaster to help loosen it up..you should be able to see 3 black plastic"ramps" on the front of the clutch..see if there worn bad on one side?
the spring pushes the helix"thing with 3 points on it that moves with the spring " against the black plastic ramps..see if those parts are worn before removing it with a flash light real good..

All looks good to me other than some small chips in the clutch at the bottom. Not sure if that is why the shorter belt is getting grabbed. Even with the shorter belt, it didn't seam to take off any better. Anyone have any ideas on making this cart low end better?
