1988 ezgo 2 stroke rear end input shaft

I was wondering if anyone knew where to find an input shaft for the 88 ezgo 2 strokes the ring gear wasn't damaged but the gear on the input shaft is completely mangled the cart was free and i don't have buckets of money to throw at it i swear it would be easier narrowing a Chevy rear end than hunting down parts

I've seen various rear ends on e-bay but not just the input shaft. Personally I'd be interested in seeing the Chevy rear narrowed and installed. I think I'd go for something from a light duty pickup though.
