Re: Hauling deer
For spending $600 on that contraption, I would drag the deer out with a rope, or pull it up onto the back seat platform. I have done both. Over 125lbs I drag out. Anything below that I throw up on the back seat.

Re: Hauling deer
I just use a small rack and drilled into the EZ-GO rear and with a piano wire hinge, and a chepie winch, I pull the deer across the rack and winch it up.

Re: Hauling deer
I just drag out the kill with the cart and a rope. I made a crane for the back of the truck to pick up anything heavy and swing it in the back of the truck. You can buy a crane like mine or build one if you have the recourse's. LOL this was before my lift and tires. I dragged that pig for about a half mile.

Re: Hauling deer
Bought one of these this year after becoming painfully aware that I could no longer lift 100+ lbs of dead weight anymore:
http://www.discountramps.com/game-hoist.htm Had to mount a $40 receiver hitch under my back seat foot rest but it works great. |

Re: Hauling deer
Y'all need to shoot smaller deer.
We actually put a 150 lb'er on the back seat. Can't remember why I didn't fold it down. Maybe the beer. |

Re: Hauling deer
I built a flat plate, with a Harbor Freight 2,000 lb winch and a vertical, extendable 1/4 inch square tube post with a pulley attached on top and then bolted it behind the seats on the back of my Ezgo (it has now been transferred to my Beast 48 Ezgo) with a Harbor Freight 2,000 lb winch attached. When you shoot a deer or hog you extend the the bar up and then free wheel the winch cable down to where the deer or hog is lying and put the cable around it's neck and then winch it up into the bag well. If I and my hunting partner both get one when I get to where the other one is I lower the first one down beside the second one putting them side by side then I remove the cable from the first one and put it around both necks and winch them both up into the bag well resting on their butts side by side in the well and head back to camp. People run off the road when they see the deer or hog sitting up in the bag well looking like a dog sitting up begging for a treat. My daughter hunts by herself lots and she can handle the deer or hog easily by herself. When it's not in use the tension from the winch cable keeps it tight and it doesn't rattle. If anyone is interested I'll take some pictures of the winch set up when I go to my hunting camp. These are just some of pictures I has stored on computer. The first 2 pictures are me and two of my deers, the third is my 12 year old Grandson hog, the 4th picture is my daughters hog and the last picture is of my hunting partner and the first Ezgo it was mounted on. The first 4 pictures are the Beast 48 Ezgo where it is currently mounted.
Happy New Year Everybody, Jack |
