Default emergency disconnect switch

I am thinking about installing a battery main disconnect switch , would you put it on the pos. or neg side . I would think pos , side but on car repairs they always show you discnt the neg side post first

It wouldn't matter where you install it. Just make sure it can handle the amps of your controller. I'd think a knife switch would be the most common, but have never seen one installed. An enclosed switch would be better, but may be pretty costly.

A welding cable plug and socket would work, just yank it to disconnect. Cheap and simple.
