Question about the rev limiter
I have had intermittent problems with my club car dying while driving and the spark seems to be gone, just cranks. I made a post before about parts to replace. I have replaced and still died on me yesterday so I did the remove the ground on the rev limiter and now runs and has spark. Time will tell if it is THE fix but have a question. With the rev limiter ground disconnected it does not shut the cart down. What exactly happens now when I reach the set top speed?? Unless I modify the governor will the RPM's go higher and higher or will they still be limited to where they are now?? And when I reach that limit with the ground removed what happens at that time? I assume the engine wont shut down, does it just stay running at the limit and not go any higher? Thanks for hopefully clearing up my confusion...

Re: Question about the rev limiter
Well looks like my worst fear is in play, took her out for a drive and gradually increased speed. Of course the rev limiter didn't work as the ground is still disconnected, but the speed kept going up I'm pretty sure past where the limiter would cut it off. I didn't take it up and up, not sure how far it would go and was not going to do any damage. Was hoping since the limiter would not cut the engine out the governor or throttle linkage would not allow it to go past damage control. Doesn't seem that way. My question now is there any way to adjust the governor or throttle to keep it at a safe speed?? I am not into using her as a 4 wheeler and rarely reached the rev limiter cutoff when out cruising. The only info I have seen is how to increase speed not keep it where it needs to be!! Thanks....
