Default Motor or Controller Precedent ?

what is better to upgrade first
i have a 2008 Prec 6" lift on 23"s with speed code 3
16Mph on gps right now id like to see it in the upper 20's low 30's with torque
looking for a good recipe
i know one or the other will not get there but eventually with the mods in place it may
i will be upgrading the cables to either #2 or 1/0 soon
the batteries are in good cond across the board

alltrax 700 @ 80% ?
or 500 @ 100%

new motor or stock worked by PQ ?

im just learning bout these carts so bear with me

Fishman, if I had to pick one and its speed Im interested in, then definitely the PQ motor. Just with the PQ motor alone and a healthy battery pack, you'll be at 25-26mph. Thats about 10mph increase in speed from where you are at now. I dont think their is an Alltrax 700 for shunt motors. Series motors as opposed to shunt type motors do well with high amperage controllers. Shunt motors are wound with thinner wire which do not hold high amperage well. I would go with the 500amp controller due to the fact that it has a large heat sink like the 600amp Alltrax as opposed to the 400.

Stock controller is around 250 amps with a programed slower delivery than an aftermarket 400 amp controller... you'll get a much faster take-off for sure if you change it out
