Curtis 1204-024 Can't get throttle to work?
Hey Guys,
I have a Curtis 1204-024 24-36V 275A, it came out of Hyundai golf cart. I am trying to use it for something else now (no longer have the golf cart). However for the life of me I can't remember what throttle type it take. It has 4 big connection, B-, B+, M-, A2 and 3 smaller spade connectors on the left side. I have been trying to bench test it using a 5K pot (only one could get from radio shack said 5k-0 type. I keep reading online it said these Curtis are mostly 0-5k, does that the problem? Not sure if I understand the 0-5k or 5k-0 throttle type... wouldn't you just turn the pot the other way and it reverse it? Either way I have tried both direction and same out come. When I measure the M- and B+ output, I get 0 volt, but when I move the Pot slightly it output 38Volts which is the max of the battery and if I keep increasing it very slowly, it go to 38.5v, 38.6v, then max out. Is this a electronic throttle type? 0-5v? If so, can I just connect a 5v power supply to the pot and connect the wiper and ground to pin 2,3 pins on the Curtis controller? But how to know which polarity? would that blow something up? thanks all.. |
