Engine model number on g1?
Hello, I have a 1985 g1. I am needing to replace the rings and some gaskets but I don’t know the model# of the engine. Also where is a good place to buy said rings and gaskets?

So long as the engine is original, ie. not a snowmobile engine or something, then '85 Yamaha G1 IS the model number.
If you Google for "Yamaha G1" rings / gaskets you will get a ton of parts sources but do yourself a favor and get them Plowman's Carts. You can find their banner in the "site sponsor" link above. There are a lot of knock off parts out there and it's easy to get flamboozled with junk. Plowman's will get you fixed up with the good stuff. |

As far as I know it is original. My friend that I got it from said they never replaced it and they’ve had it since 1990. It looks like all the original engines I have seen as well.
