Uneven Brake Cables After Lift Kit
Hey everyone - I'm looking for recommendations on what to do.
First, I put a Steeleng lift kit on my 07 Precedent. The driver side brake cable was extremely tight after. So I purchased a Passenger side brake cable and installed that last night. This new Passenger cable works, but it is a little longer than my actual passenger cable (See Picture). So when I brake, it slows the driver wheel but its obvious the passenger wheel is braking more. Especially if I slam on the brakes, the driver wheel won't "lock" but the passenger wheel does. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Should I buy another new passenger cable? Maybe add some spacers/washers to the driver cable? Other ideas? |

Re: Uneven Brake Cables After Lift Kit
Check out TDawg's great sticky.
Flip your brakes. This can be done with a jack, hacksaw(I used a grinder), and a few wrenches and sockets. To remove E clips I bought a pair of bent needlenose pliers and filed to fit E clip holes. Once you do this you can go back to factory brake cables and will have factory brake feel. For everybody who's lifted 6 inches or more, I strongly recommend you flip your brakes. This is mandatory on every cart that I lift. Thank you TDAWG for the sticky. |
