Default Pds solenoid clicks but doesn’t move

Pds 48v alltrax Dcx 400 controller. Green light doesn’t come on when the key is turned on like it should. Switch on and tow/run on but no light on controller. When pedal is pressed solenoid clicks but doesn’t move. Pack voltage Is a little low at 48.1v.... got it charging now but still think I got another problem! Any ideas? Thanks!

For a PDS you need power at many points of the 10 pin connector to make it run. Do you have a voltmeter and paper clip?

To get a DCX to power-up, you need battery pack voltage on Pins 6, 9 & 10.

Attached are three schematics with voltage paths to Pin-6, Pin-9 and Pin-10 highlighted.

Note: Unless your cart has been rewired differently, you have to have a direction selected on the F/R switch as well as the keyswitch on to get a DCX to power up.

Ok. I checked voltage. I have pack voltage on pins 6,9 and 10. Thanks! My wire colors don’t seem to match the schematic. The four wires going to the tow/run switch are all white except one that is red/white. (Edit: the other side of the adapter going to tow run switch has solid colors that I guess match schematic solid orange, red, white and yellow) Also my number 6 pin is yellow. 10- red/white 9- solid red.

All that being said... when I have switch on run/tow on and f/r selected, I get pack voltage on pins 6,9, and 10. I am checking this from b- on the controller. Are there any other tests that I can do? Or does this mean controller no good??? Thanks!

With pack voltage on Pins 6, 9 and 10, the LED on the DCX should flash green four time and then go to steady green. If it isn't, the DCX is most likely bad.

Replace it with a XCT48400-PDS. Hopefully you've still got the speed sensor, the XCT uses motor RPM data for better field mapping and better regen braking.

How do I know if I have speed sensor? Was it bypassed when I upgraded to this controller?

Gray wire coming out of back end of motor.

The stock PDS controller used it, but the DCX didn't. Hopeful it is still there and just plug at the other end of the cable is still there.

I have a gray wire coming out of the back that has been cut (no adapter plug on the end) it consists of three wires red, black, and white) is this it? Will it have to just be straight wired to controller?
Also, does the xct controller come with new wiring harnesses? Or do you use the one that went to the dcx controller? The reason I ask is I need new harnesses.... mine are in pretty bad shape. Thanks for all your help!

The XCT for a PDS cart has jacks that the plugs of the cart's wiring harness plug into. Those being:
1. J1 - 10 pin from main wiring harness.
2. J3 - 4 pin from Run/Tow switch
3. J4 - 4 pin from pedal box
4. J5 - 3 pin from speed sensor.

Note: Jacks J 1.3.4. & 5 are labeled C 1, 3, 4 & 5 of attached Alltrax schematic.

You'll need a 3 pin plug, or some way the connect the speed sensor.

Here is a link to a new speed sensor: https://www.amazon.com/EZGO-73327G01.../dp/B00CAWZVZK
You can find better pricing.
