Default Help with Crown date code on new cart

Just bought an 2010 RXV with 4 12 volt crowns in it. Can someone decipher this code stamped in the top of the batteries? They all match. J26172B10951
I’m confused as to what is the date. Thanks!

Look on the round metal post connected to the stud where the battery cables are attached. There should be a letter and a single number stamped into the metal. The letter is the month (a=January, b=february and so on) and the number is the last digit of the year it was manufactured.

This has come up before. At the time the majority opinion was 4th and 5th digit So, 2017 in your case. It's not exactly clear on web sources and there is some disagreement or at least there was back then. First digit -J- is the month (Oct). Some companies may skip i(I) like Deka, I believe so could be Nov.
I have some Crowns still operating fine that were built in Dec (L) of 2013. I'm confident in their build date as I bought them new. They are CR190s 8V. History says you are unlikely to get anywhere near that longevity with 12V batteries by any manufacturer.

Trojan has stamped the date code on the Negative post for years as reported here. Apparently they don't do this anymore and Trojan was purchased by C&D Technologies in 2018. Most other manufacturers did it some other way. Over the years with acquisitions and such, there are many batteries with different labels and its more and more difficult to determine their lineage or where or when they were made.
