Default EZGO TXT Tire size to go with?

Hello there. First time posting so I hope I get this right. I have 2006 EZGO TXTE. I want to keep it the stock suspension height and run a larger wheel with a low profile tire. So question is what is the biggest wheel size and low profile tire size that will fit on the stock ride height? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

there are different size wheels, 13's, 14's, 15's.....but but thats just wheel sizes....what you need to be conserened with is TIRE sizes....any of the low profile tires that have a diameter of 20" - 20.5" will work with a stock height suspension.

Keep in mind 20-20.5 is the max OD of the tire. The bigger the rim the smaller the sidewall and the rougher the ride. 14s might look cool to your kids but they are heck on an old back.

I would suggest 12" wheels on the cart. I have a set of 10" wheels on my lowered cart, and notice that bumps make the cart feel like it drifting. The 12" wheels give the cart more surface area, and feels more stable.

I was thinking of going to a 14" wheel, because I think it would look good with a lowered cart, but don't want to give up that much ride quality the lower profile tires.

Great info yall! I really appreciate it. I was thinking of getting some 12" wheels I saw for 100$ and didn't want to pass them up. Just needed to figure out what tire size would fit and look the best. Thanks again.

Any idea what speed increase would result from 20in tall vs the stock 18in tall tires?

I saw about 2-3 mph increase when I went from stock 18" to 20" low profile street tires.

Mathematically there is an 11.1% speed increase, but it is accompanied by a 10.0% torque loss, so the actual speed increase will be less than the theoretical speed increase.

Also, if the 20" tires are the low pressure type (<10PSI max inflation pressure), the new speed may be less than the original speed.

Thanks for the data. I think I have convinced myself to wait on the tires and wheels and do the controller first. Tires and wheels are about half the price of the controller, and I think I'd get more bang for the buck from a controller.

Now there's only the Family CFO to deal with...

Depends on drive type. If it is a series drive, changing the controller won't change the speed, but if it is a sepex drive (PDS in 2006) it'll up the speed into the neighborhood of 24MPH on 19" tire and 36V battery pack.
