Which drive type, series or sepex (DCS)?????

If the white connector on top of the controller has 6 pins (2 blanks), it is a series drive. If it's a 10 pin connector (1 blank), it's a DCS.

A stock DCS controller (Curtis 1206SX) defaults to forward and has to be told to do reverse, so either the controller is being told to go into reverse mode or the controller is bad.

In 1995, DCS carts had two different type F/R switches.
Attachment#1 is the earlier version, Attachment#2 is the later version.

Which does your cart have?

Okay, it is the early type. Schematic attached.

Check for battery pack voltage on Pin-4 (Orange wire) when F/R lever is in F.

If it is there, something about the F/R switch is amiss, if it isn't, the controller is bad.

If the switch is bad, it can be replaced with a DPDT toggle switch. Attached drawing.

If it is the controller, replace it with an Alltrax XCT48400-DCS. https://www.cartsunlimited.net/alltrax-xct-sepex--.html
