Default G1 - adjusting how it runs?

I didn't get any response to the other post so I thought I would ask it differently...
How do you adjust a G1 to make it run at it's best?
What about the "Mixture Screw" on the Carburetor itself?

I think the correct setting for the carb is from fully seated 1 1/2 turns out. The timeing can be adjusted, but it doesn't seem to make much difference either way.

The idle jet is for only idle to maybe 1/8 throttle opening or so. Set idle speed and then mix on the rich side to start faster (usually 1.5 turn). It should miss some. G1 is supposed to idle just faster than the starter. Otherwise a clean carb/exhaust/air filter is about it unless you have a mechanical issue. Low compression is a power killer, its worth it to put a bored jug/piston on a G1 if power is what you are looking for and comp is low. Deck the head while you are at it. There are other threads that talk about other mods to get more power. Also make sure your clutches are clean and lubed, shifting right, belt is not 1" wide or less. You will not get that ~10hp to the ground in any cart if the CVT system is not working properly.

Lol, yeah you don't really need the governor unless you have kids rid it or something. You can advance the timing and clean the exhaust port out a little. If you really want power put a bravo engine in it, the ignition can be made to fit.
