Default g1 oil tank question

I just noticed a small hole in the top of my oil tank. My question is can I just make a plug for it or do I need to replace the tank. The hole is on the very top of the tank.

There is a fitting on top of the tank that is an air vent. You attach a hose to it and run the hose down to a fitting on the trans, so the oil tank vents through the trans. If the oil tank is overfilled the oil goes through the vent hose and into the trans instead of dumping on the ground and causing an oil slick on the putting green.

My buddy has a G1. We removed his oil tank. Mix the oil with the fuel and you don't have to worry about the mixer going bad and burrning up your engine.

He just mixes 5 gallons of fuel and dumps it in. A tank of fuel seems to last forever in these things.

The hole is from a missed placed bolt by the previous owner. They must of had something bolted on the back that rubbed a small hole through the top of the oil tank. I was wondering if the tank was pressurized. My overflow is all intact.

I gather you are not a golfer! Golf carts are driven up to 100 yards off the green. There is no way carts can dump oil on the putting green.
