rev limt on a G2
Hi guy and gals im a newbie #1 I hear or read that a g2 has a rev limter built in the the ingnition box and if you cut or remove one wire it will remove the rev limter ? #2 if this is true what color is the wire or how many wires are going in the box at the plug? the reason i ask is the cart i restored i got in peices and the person that had it was a hack and messed up a few things anyway i have a drk brown wire hanging near the ingnition box that i think might be the rev limter wire and i dont want to over rev the engine. thanks 4 any help, this forum has helped me alot

Hey there fellow G2 guy. I've been reading many post around here on that very topic and the general concensus is that without the limiter there is a greater chance of seriously damaging your engine. with a simple mod, bypassing the mechanical governor, you can get 22mph on standard tires (I do). Yes it cuts me out (briefly) if I'm too aggressive on the gas, but considering the alternative, I'm ok with that. Look for a user "car-ramrod", search the related posts and make your own decision.

ty joe ill look at the other posts yea im with u i dont want to blow it up if i wantted to go faster than 20mph, ill jump im my mustang GT ohohooo 310 hp of axle twisting tire buring spine depresing accelaration but theres something about getting every inch of performance in an engine with out pushing it past the limt
