Yeah, I was gonna tear down and mic everything. I was curious if anyone that has gone this route has had any issue with the machine shop being able to chuck up the cylinder to bore and hone it. From what I see, oversized pistons are available in +0.25mm, 0.5mm, 0.75mm and 1mm. Pistons stamped 010, 020, 030, etc would be oversized in inches. So, 010 would be +0.010" or +0.254mm, 020 would be +0.020" or + 0.508mm and so forth.
Anyone here up on piston to cylinder wall clearances for these engines? Being air cooled, I would assume that it would be fairly tight. Thanks, Nik |

Specs for G1 Gas Engine:
Std. Bore 68.00mm Piston Clearance 0.03 ~ 0.035 mm Ring End Gap 0.2 ~ 0.4 mm Flywheel Nut 52.6 ft. lbs. Clutch Bolt 43 ft. lbs. Crankcase Bolts 4.7 ft. lbs. Head Bolts (Initial) 14.5 ft. lbs. (Final) 18 ft. lbs |
