Default Rear end check

Ok Yamaha experts. I'm looking into a G8 that's an electric model that I want to convert to gas. I have a G2/G9 rear end. Are they much different? I can't seem to find much info on the G8. I like the looks of this cart better than the G2/G9, so I'd like to do the swap. Can anyone post pics of their G8 rear end?

Thanks!

I think the G8 uses the same rear as the G2/G9. Yamaha changed to the Dana axle with the G16. I'm sure you can make it work...

The swing arm on a battery car is shorter than on a gas car. With the G8, you would have to lengthen the swing arm as well as the 2 trailing arms, and also move the (main) center cross member, in the frame, forward, to make room for the gas motor to fit on the lenghtened swing arm.

The "loosers" in the G8 club can get you numbers to work with. There's one or 2 that can read a tape, I'm sure!!

Have belt failures much? I see a spare hiding up under your cart!

Thanks guys! What if I were to use the whole swing arm from the G2 cart? I know the swing arm mounts are the same from the G1 to G2, since I did that swap already. What are the chances the G8 is the same?

Well it appears that the G8 swing arm is NOTHING like the G1 or G2/G9. That takes care of that idea.

So I can still use the electric swing arm, it just has to be lengthened? That shouldn't be a problem. The problem I have is the cart is in Maryland and I'm in Ohio. Wondering if this is worth all the trouble?

G16 is very close to G8, think you would like the 3" longer wheel base!! Car is more roomy.

Dawg, I'm always out alone, so carrying a few extra parts may get me home one day!!
