I bought another Precedent Gas today
That now makes 4 carts in the stable. This is an addiction!
The latest (this 2006 Precedent Gas) will serve as the chassis for the Turf Rider restoration. While I had originally purchased the 87 DS gas for that, I found that some parts of the DS would be problematic when trying to retrofit the TR body. It promises to be a long summer. Wish me luck. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pick this one up for?

Re: I bought another Precedent Gas today
Now that's a first! I don't think I've ever seen anyone chop up a Precedent yet as a frame for something else, I like it!
I'll tell you this: I'm a DS guy all the way when it comes to looks, but the Precedent is built SOLID, and has some awesome design features, a very nice frame, a nice ride, and a way better front end than a DS. Should make a really good base for the TR! |

Hello, my name is Gregg and I'm an addict too.
You'll love the precedent. Nothing against the ds. I love mine. Best of luck on the build. How's the air box working out for you? |

Re: I bought another Precedent Gas today
All original, never fiddled with (wiring is original and the governor has not been touched), very dirty, bald tires, almost all of the black plastic trim is damaged, the body panels are fine, and it runs really good. It drives, steers, stops and looked a lot better after $5 in the quarter car wash.
He was asking $2500, and with the damaged black plastic parts, that may have scared a few folks. I paid $2000. I'm hoping that if I get far enough along before winter that I might be able to sell the body panels, roof and a few other parts to offset my cost. |

Re: I bought another Precedent Gas today
One of my other carts is a Precedent gas. We really like it.
As I get the Turf Rider project underway (sometime late next month), I'll have a better idea as to what I need to fabricate. That air box will be a big help! |

Thanks.....not what I was expecting with the name turf rider but OK Lol. I have a golf cart addiction myself that I can't seem to shake. I'm new to the world of modern golf cart upgrade BC my entire childhood I had gas powered ones that I lifted and failed and succeed throughout my childhood. My parents friends owned a golf course so I was always playing with them and taking the old wore out ones and making them into whatever I wanted. If I only had pictures of all them I could fill pages on a thread of all the ones I built. The electric carts are what has started this new passion I have acquired that I can't get enough if for some reason. I am left with only one more upgrade to my CC DS and that's a motor but I have another ezgo in the making to be a lithium powered that was inspired by another thread that a guy built.
Rep keep the updates coming. Excited to see how this is going to turn out with the CC frame. The best of luck to you on this build!!!! I hope it is easier than it appears. I believe with that color scheme it is going to look SWEET!!!!!! |
