Do you have any idea what a solenoid does? It has absolutely nothing at all to do with battery charging. It is a low current electromagnet which activates a high current connection. You turn on the starter switch (low current) and that activates or connects the high amp cable connection from the battery to the starter (high current). There was no reason in the world to replace that to solve your problem. And you really can't wire that up wrong - 2 small wires, 2 large wires.
Most likely your battery is bad, may not be able to accept a charge, but you can keep on going out and replacing parts until you finally check the battery like I suggested. To solve a problem you start at the bottom and work your way up, you'll never solve it except by accident when you go at it from somewhere in the middle. Bring your battery in for a test then come back here and tell us what happened. |
