Default G1 oil injection question

:04 pm

just purchased a 85 g1 previous ower said oil injection is not working. After i got the cart home emptied the gas and put in a fresh with a premix ratio of 50:1 and it smokes like a chimney. injection pump was coverd in dirt/oil so i washed it off and found that oil line going from pump to carb had a hole in so i pulled the line off and there was oil at the brass fitting of the pump. My question is i ran the cart on blocks WFO for 30 seconds to a minute but did not get any oil to bubble over the brass fitting (witch tells me pump isnt working?) was this long enough to determine if pump is working or does it just pump that slow??? dont mind premixing but if injection pump is actually working i don't want to smoke everyone out at the course but also dont want to chance it. Any help would be appreciated. also i cleaned out take and primed the pump with fresh oil (took top off pump and blew in tank until straight oil flowed out with no air bubbles).

I don't know about the injection pump, but if you're going to pre-mix, it should probably be at 100:1.

Here is a post I found by searching:
55590-g1-oil-injector-testing

I can't speak from experience on the speed of the oil pump. I swapped out the stock engine pretty quickly for a 440CC sled engine.

On my daughters G1 I've been premixing premium 91 with synthetic yamalube at 75:1 for almost 2 years now. Seems to be working real well. Hardly any smoke at all and the plug shows it's burning perfect.
