And I have taken pictures with my phone before and posted them here from my PC. Usually whatever orientation they appear once transferred to my PC is the orientation they load too. Strange.......

Sergio's post made me think it was in the resizing that occurs when I attached them on my phone email and sent them to myself. It always gives me the attached selection and I select "Medium". Then I open my PC and download them to my hard drive and upload from there. I just checked again and the orientation is correct so I will have to dig a little deeper.

Excellent suggestion! This would be consistent with a hot wheel and no play in the axle. Bonus that it is a cheap check/fix. It seems obvious in hind-sight. What a great forum. Thanks guys.

I will get my sister to drop off her cart and check it out. I'll let you know what I find.

Well I removed the brake drum (had to beat it with a rubber hammer). Sure enough, the leading shoe bottom was worn away, gouging the drum.

This was the source of the noise while dragging on the drum. I backed off the adjustor to see if the axle bearing was OK, and it seems to be. I am glad I didn't have to delve into replacing a wheel bearing.

So it appears to me, the next step is to perform a brake job on both wheels. To my knowledge, this will entail replacing the shoe and turning at least one drum. These drums can be turned, yes? I assume all the brake hardware can be reused, yes?

So as I start searching for brake shoes, it becomes apparent to me that to find the exact shoes I need, I will need to have the Club Car part number. Any suggestions how to get it?

Hey Nole, do you have any part numbers for the brake parts on a DS?

#101823201 - Self-Adjusting Brake Shoe Package (set of 4)
#101791101 - Brake Drum without center hole

The springs and hardware can be reused as long as there's no noticeable damage or rust.
I'm not sure if drums that small can be turned, that's something you'll need to ask a brake machinist.
Just in case... Jason's Golf Car's has them! (a fine BGW sponsor)
