Preditor engine swap
Hey everyone I'm happy to join the forum i looks like I'll have a ton of information that will be useful to me. I have a 97 carryall 2 plus and a few years ago it developed a huge leak on the back of the block near what i believe is the counter balancer. Just recently i found what looked like a direct engine swap on Facebook with the axel for 200 bucks. Well unfortunately i didn't look closely enough when I picked it up and the engine had eaten the exhaust valve. So while messing with the engine i discovered it was a counter clockwise rotation engine and axle so it was still a good score. I just finished the swap on the axle and engine cradle and tomorrow will be dropping in a preditor 22hp v-twin. Hopefully by Wednesday my new drive clutch, secondary, and belt will be here so i can brake in the engine before i go on vacation Friday. Sorry for such a long post but here's my few small questions. When hooking up the engine to the throttle should i still hook the governor on the axle to the engine or just bypass it and use the cable straight from the black box. The other thing i was wondering is if it might be possible to rebuild the ccw engine using the piston, cam, and head from my old clockwise engine they look identical. the only reason I'm even interested in that is my uncle has an easy go limo cart with full rollcage but it's an undesirable 2 stroke.

Re: Preditor engine swap
Skip the axle governor on your cart and connect the throttle cable directly to the new engine carb. Then buy a reliable tach and keep the engine in a safe rpm range.
Your uncle would be better off with a clone engine, likely 420cc, than the expense of the old engine you have then retrofitting it to the EZGO. Not an easy job or good idea. |

Re: Preditor engine swap
Sounds good thanks for the advice. I'll get this thing running tomorrow i didn't feel like manhandling the engine into the cart. I got my cherry picker back and the rest of the parts will be delivered. As for the old engine if i can rebuild it i may pull the swap from my carryall and use it in the easy go. It's a much nicer setup for the family and my uncle has a 4 seater razor now
