Default Wiring a voltage reducer to fuse box and key switch

I’m using a voltage reducer that will also work with a key switch. I’ve seen them used on numerous builds and are blue in color. Photo of the unit is below. Anyways, I want to make sure I’ve got the wiring right before I install. I’ve drawn a diagram and also have a photo below. Thanks for the help!

Is this how you ended up wiring your setup? Did you wire to a key source trigger wire or to a separate switch? Kind of curious myself.

The diagram is correct. On a YDRE the KS power goes two places. A Red/Wht wire to the foot switch and same Red/Wht to the controller main plug pin 8. I take the green to the location of the main harness to access the Red/Wht to the controller. (Saves running wire to dash and splicing to same red wire from KS.) You will have to split the tape on the harness back some 4-5" to locate the wire. I then use a tap splice (used in electrical trade as fixture taps, etc) see link. Work perfect for this application.

I have what was sold to me as a '15 AC G29 and when wiring following the diagram, found the key switch red/white was actually a ground and not a hot wire. Has anyone else experienced this when wiring the reducer?

I had to run the wire to a relay to get it to work.
