G29 Kingpin kit install?
I did a search and couldn't find much as far as an install or removal guide for the front Kingpins. It looks pretty straightforward but am wondering if you grease anything during install? if so where and how much? Any tips?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: G29 Kingpin kit install?
There are a few videos on youtube. You can also look for a lift kit install for your model or one similar as they usually cover removal and install of kingpins. Sorry if this doesn't help.

Nice! For the response. The install is super easy, I'm just wondering what and how much grease to apply and where?

Re: G29 Kingpin kit install?
What usually happens is the part that Yamaha calls a spacer tends to rust and bind up inside the knuckle. As a result the steering gets tight. Some folks will loosen up the bolt which frees up the steering but wears out the bolt and shock absorber assembly.
The prober fix is to remove the knuckle, take out the spacer and replace it. Coat the bushing with grease. |
