Default How do you keep a DCS controller healthy?

Hello all....first post. I was given a lightly used 1995 Medalist DCS cart by a relative 5 years ago It was always garaged and is in great shape. It was sitting unused in my garage until a few days ago. I put new batteries in it, along with a battery watering system, and got it going. It runs well. The original charger is shot and I have a new Lester charger on the way. I'm new to having a cart and have been reading various forums about them. I've read that the DCS system was made only a few years because they were problematic and prone to frying the controller. Is there anything I can do in the way that I treat the cart to try to avoid the failure of the DCS controller? I'd like to avoid having to buy a new after-market controller if at all possible. Everything works fine now.

Thanks

Low battery volts will hurt it. And stalling the motor. If the cart is NOT moving when you push on the go pedal, that is stalling the motor. Foot on the pedal and the motor not spinning it's going to hurt something. When you push the pedal the motor need to be spinning. The DCS was a good cart in it time. The controller not so much

Better throw out the watering system, they are not reliable over the time. I've had a TXT DCS model for 3.5 years, no problems at all.
