Default Steering problem

Hi
I just got finished with my latest build. Its was a stock 99 txt and we added a bunch of custom add ons. When i road tested it seemed to have play in steering. My question is there any adjustment on this or do i need to replace the steering assy. Im thinking its prolly wore out but not sure if the lift w bigger tires makes it do that. Im selling this and i want to make sure its right for the new owner. Thanks

Yes the lift and bigger wheels & tires will accentuate whatever play may already be there. a common wear item on those is the big brass bushing the pitman arm swings on. Have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth a little while you look at the linkage underneath. Also, any misalignment (incorrect toe) will made it wander quite a bit too.

Not hard at all, remove with a punch and reinstall with piece of all thread and flat washers if you don't have any plate with a hole in the middle.

Ok well I replaced the pitman bushing and nothing changed. Still got play in steering wheel. Looks like the shaft w swivel ball joint that goes into the rack itself is where the problem is.
