They still have those ignitors available. Check the sponsors first. You may need to call an EZ GO dealer for the OEM. Let me check a couple things and I'll get back to you.

Re: 1989 EZGO Ignitor Problem
OK. I didn't search all the sponsors pages. Call them and be sure we are not bypassing them. Without the sponsors, there would be no forum. Golf Cart TRader has igniters for 84-90 models ez go. That tells me all those years are the same. Item no. GCT 1010594. They retail @ $99.00+ shipping. Check around for a used one. It would be half that.
Our sponsors may be more reasonably priced. Igniters aren't cheap. Do what you can to help them, as I said, they help us I had a procedure done this morning, I can't look any further. I'm going to sleep.... That should fix you up. tony |

Do you have an old weedeater laying around? Yard sale?
The little ignitor that is externally mounted to them, It is about the size of 5 quarters stacked but square. (Echo, Stihl, Weedeater brand) Any of these that use an external ignitor will replace the one on your cart. It might have a flat spade or one or two wires coming from it, they all serve the same purpose, one going to the coil at the flywheel and the other going to the kill button or switch one the case or handle. The ignitor must be grounded for it to work. I have one with wires and aligator clips I use for testing. |

Re: 1989 EZGO Ignitor Problem
I wasn't thinking of alternatives this morning. I was still in googoo land.
That would be cheaper than buying it from anybody If worse comes to worse, Mikes Motor Toys (sponsor and EZ GO dealer) could get one for you......Thanks guys! |
