Default wire upgrade question?

got new #4 wire set to replace #6 stock wiring on 94 CC. (solid state)
I'm one long wire short. I there a #6 wire from the stock wire that i can reuse for one of the wires that doesn't get hot? or do all the wires get equally hot?

All get equally hot - longer wires need larger diameter more than shorter ones. Just go buy a single wire the right length. Battery Cables USA.com is where I get all of mine from.
