Default gas strut seat support

I got tired of lifting the seat off or propping it up with a stick so I bought the parts I needed to add a gas spring, strut or what ever you want to call it. I bolted a ball stud to one of the existing holes in the frame under the body just rearward of where the sets when closed. I used a 20" 50# gas strut and and on the seat I screwed a HD reverse angle ball bracket mount plate. My seat base is made out of starboard which is a little heavier than wood so you might be able to use a 40# strut if yours is still wood. Quick and easy support of your seat for maintenance or ventilation. I bought all the parts listed below off Ebay from strut_your_stuff_here.

20" nitrate coated gas strut with 10mm ball socket end $13.99
nitrate coated threaded ball stud mount (you'll have to get a 5/16 nut from the hardware) $3.29
Nitrate coated HD reverse angle ball bracket mount plate $3.99 (get some #10 screws at the hardware)

The ball mount plate is positioned on the seat base 5-1/2" from the front edge of the seat measured with the seat in the vertical position. While I used this on an electric TXT you could probably also use it on the gas models.

This is what old guys do when retired! Hope this helps someone out.

I would like to add that where this mounts to the frame, there are 3 holes. I used the middle one which is elongated vertically and worked perfect. I'm sure the picture won't be in the correct orientation so you'll have to use your imagination until I get this figured out.
