Default How do you keep water off your K&N air filter?

Well today I realy put the golf cart threw its paces and I keep sucking up water Its only when I kit water at a decent speed to it's getting thrown up into it. My friend tried a water bottle cut but still water gets into it. Has any one build a snorkel for it? How do you stop water from getting into it
Thanks
Nick

TURN THE BOTTLE OPENING TO THE BOTTOM... Guarantee water won't get in on splashing.

More than likely, the water is coming from the clutch, belt area. Give it a try.

Buy the pre-filter, it helps to repel the water. It goes over the K&N.

I agree with the foam prefilter. You use the same k&n oil on it and it beads up the water and it falls off.

On my dune buggie the airfilter was right over the chain. So everytime I would oil the chain it would throw oil up on the filter. So I got some metal flashing from lowes and built a little air box around it using self tapping machine screws and it cut down on the splashing and such. Just an idea. Good Luck.

Cheers

i made a belt guard out of alum plate ang it helps to keep the belt dust, grease and some water off the filter, but i need to get the prefilter like ron had. the oil on it coolects tones of dust.
