EZGO Spark Plug Gap - 400cc
I've never been one to fret over a spark plug gap when dealing with cart motors (stock), but I had an interesting situation today.
A customer brought in a new ST Sport 2+2 with the Kawasaki engine. It was very hard starting and it would also "miss" upon acceleration. I was about to start testing the coil and igniter, but noticed an autolite spark plug sitting where the stock NGK was originally placed. I replaced the plug with an OEM and the cart wan like new. I looked at the removed plug and noticed the gap looking a little large. It was gapped at .040" - causing a poor spark. Problem fixed! Guess I need to keep the gap in mind now on these newer motors |
