I have a old marathon 350cc lifted golf cart that was given to me from my uncle who blew a rod in the motors . After replacing the rod/piston/rings/seals/gaskets and six month of the cart working fine I've run into a problem.

After taking the cart to the dear lease this weekend and driving through some pastures I seem to have a oil leak. It's on the drivers side of the motor( I believe a seal broke) also it seems like I have some white smoke spits out of the muffler when u crank it after letting it sit.

I plan on taking the motor out and replacing the gasket /seals / pistons/ everything. See in the first rebuild I only replaced one of the pistons /rings and the motor smoked everytime I cranked it until it got going good.

My question is what would cause all of this ? I've read the oil level in the motor could cause smoke. Also it was pretty bumpy in the pastures . Is there any advice yall have on the rebuild?

Well I've figured out where the oil is coming from. It looks like it is coming off of both sides of the motor . Where the seals and the crank shaft are.

well after taking the motor out and draining the oil i noticed a little bit of silver in the oil. the cam shart seems to be the source. there are no bad spots other than a few spots where it seems slightly uneven. also the seal that went bad was the ONE ON THE DRIVER SIDE CRAN SHAFT.after talking to some people on here ive decided to completely replace both pistons, rings, seals /gaskets and everything. i will keep updating
