Fire in the hole
I have a 1985 Melex model 112 that I use for fishing..it ran OK til a battery fell thru the floor while putting it on the truck. Battery was shot so replaced. From the rear facing cart there are some coils, don't know what they are, but, the one on the far right heats up to "RED HOT" when the cart is put into gear. Big problem????

Re: Fire in the hole
They are supposed to get hot, those are what regulates speed. The only time they wont get hot is stopped or wide open. If its getting hot stopped then you got issues.

Re: Fire in the hole
Check to see if the gas peddle is returning all the way to zero...... if not, that will do it.
