Jim, are you experiencing bump steer, with your handling problem? Are your tie rods pretty flat? Meaning not going down on to much of an angle.
Your toe has got to be correct at an 1/8"

No. No bump steer. Its more of an issue of woobleness. Like too much weight, too high up on the car. I am thinking a heavier ply tire, along with off-set wheels, might do the trick.

My tires are only 3 ply, so side wall is probably soft. How are your king pin bushings? And if you do have lawn mower tires on it, they may have very soft side walls. My car is very solid if you grab hold of it and shake it like side to side, its very stiff.

Mike back in post 6 you said you fixed a camber problem with shaft collar. I bought a g16 with a home made lift kit it and the left wheel has more negative camber than the right wheel. can I fix this with a shaft collar. I so how hard are they to put in. Thanks Carl

My trail pro are 3 ply I think, anyway they are still an ATV tire. The sidewall is so stiff I can let all the air out and drive the cart. I'd not recommend it, just saying. On two carts since 99 only one failed. It had a leak and he drove it flat a few times I guess and the sidewall cracked. If you let the air out they get a little soft, but if you leave it sit for a week it will settle and be half flat....that is what he did it was really flat.

Camber....issue is with one arm the height determines camber. They should be straight with people on the cart. So is one side of the cart higher or is the lift screwed up. I cut my arms and set it, and welded them up.

Acg, I have mentioned is other posts, that when I bought my car, one of the first things I did was to get a tape measure, and measure the frame mostly from the main cross member out to different parts on the suspension. Trying to see if the frame was bent or twisted or otherwise out of shape. You might do that to see if it helps you locate a problem. Also measure the front shocks (eye to eye) for length. Take a good look at the A arms, one might be bent.

Crash, Smallblock, and Groundpounder come to mind on this type of problem.

Hope this will help, but make a sound car out of it before you spend alot of money on it, with this kind of problem. The tolerances on these Yamaha's are very tight! Mine was always less than 1/16" everywhere I measured!! (like with-in a thirty second)!!

Just thinking here; maybe king pin bushings are bad, or even wheel bearing on that side.

And DANG hard to put in, the way I did it!! DON'T do it the way I did it!

Mike I will get a tape measure out and check the king pins But I tend to think the problem is in the home made lift kit he built. I do not have the money to get a real lift kit. I was hoping your shaft collars might be a short term fix to get me by.

Guys, how do you like these? I've been searching for the right wheel/tire combo on the net, and kept going back to the ITP Mud light tire...22x11x10 with a black steel wheel. This afternoon, I realized, these exact size and type of tire was sitting on our ATV! I can't mount these, cause the lug spacing is wider. But, you get the idea. I think I really like them!
I also like this one: https://secure.golfcarcatalog.com/ca...d=1689&id=4619

Anyone have a good spot on the net to order muds like these cheap?
