Stock Ford D1VE block from 1976. It's been bored twice. Once to .030" over. Beat on it mercilessly for 9 years and ran countless bottles of nitrous through it.
The one pictured is after a freshen up last year. Bored to .040" over. Stepped up the nitrous from 150 to 200 hp and the compression from 9.5 to 10.5 and running it on 91 octane pump gas. Still running the original stock cast crank turned .020" under. Stock rods too. After 9 years of pounding on it all the bottom end needed was a crank polish and some new bearings. I like all brands and have owned most of them. Gotta say though, the old BBF is one tough mill. I think the cart would need some serious beefing up. It weighs almost 800 lbs. Wish I knew how to photoshop. |
