Stainless steering column sliding
I have a stainless steering column cover on my G22 and a aftermarket steering wheel.
I noticed that the steering column is sliding down from the steering wheel adapter. I was wondering if I can drill and tamp the adapter and put a set screw in the hold the column up. Or is there another adjustment I can make? thanks |

Re: Stainless steering column sliding
I would put a short sheet metal screw (#8x1/4") into the tube somewhere in an inconspicuous place. Far as i know, tube is empty except for the shaft.

I agree, you should have room for a SHORT screw or even a pop rivet.

There ya go, better idea!!
ya know, you guys that have those, I would worry that moisture would get under those. I would put some kind of clear calk around both ends. |

Re: Stainless steering column sliding
Here is how lame I am...never had one that didn't rattle. So when I install them, I put about 5 wraps of electrical tape up by the steering wheel and down next the the drink holder grommet. No more rattle and it stay's in place for me.
