Default Davis 500 project

I picked up this cart yesterday, I have been looking for one to work on as a project for a while. It is a Davis 500 from what i can tell. I have found very little information on the cart at all. I read that it was made by Harley Davidson back in the 80s maybe. It is a resistor cart.

I got it without a motor, I was wondering if it will be worth fixing up. I am also trying to find out what kind of motor i need to get for it. The shaft in the rear end has 10 splines and it looks like the 2 mounting bolts are adjacent from each other. The rear is a dana spicer, but I couldn't find much more markings.

Thanks for any help.

This is the second one I have seen that looks like it will run. The other one does. We installed a 400amp 36 volt controller in it last summer.

here is a link and some pictures.

Ocean lakes campground last Easter weekend right after we got done installing it.

Here is a couple of video's of it running on the 400 amp controller.

I just joined this site, but was wondering it that Davis 500 you have ever got up and running? Mine works pretty good, so maybe we can learn from each other?
