Default BackFiring

Anybody know some causes of the engine backfiring? Minor backfiring occurs from full power to slowing down.

Mine did this as well, I thionk that my fuel throttle cable was not closing the butterfly in the carb all the way (i neede to adjust it) and this allowed the excess fuel to go in the cyclinder after letting off of pedal. I guess though it could be a multitude of other issues.

Go in to my album and you will see how the throttle cable needs to be setup. The spring needs to be compressed between the cable stop and the throttle lever with your foot off the accel pedal. The spring holds the throttle closed until you get past the microswitch on the accel pedal. Plus it helps to close the throttle when you get off the gas. Take a pic of the current cable set up at the carb and post here so we can check it out.

Upon further review, that picture shows how the spring shouldn't look. That spring needs to be compressed when the accelerator pedal is released. This stops the air flow which will keep it from backfiring when you let off the gas.
